j Protean

j is a versatile discipline. It provides decent stealth, solid combat options including aggravated damage, and even a bit of intercept.

Earth Meld

Earth Meld
played in 207 decks, typically 3-10 copies

It is considered the best « combat ends » card of the game. It comes at no cost at inferior j, plus gives an unlock option at superior J, still at no cost.

Form of Mist

Form of Mist
played in 196 decks, typically 3-6 copies

An excellent combination of « combat ends » and stealth, one of the most versatile tool of j.

Form of the Bat

Form of the Bat
played in 140 decks, typically 2-4 copies

Providing either stealth or intercept depending on the need, you do not get much more versatile than this. A must-have in any J module.

Earth Control

Earth Control
played in 136 decks, typically 2-5 copies

2 stealth at superior J is a strong stealth modifier, totally worth 1 blood. Combined with Form of Mist and Form of the Bat, this is almost as stealthy as o.

Instantaneous Transformation

Instantaneous Transformation
played in 69 decks, typically 3-7 copies

A powerful and versatile stealth / unlock combination, the superior JC version is of course more desireable.

Claws of the Dead

Claws of the Dead
played in 58 decks, typically 1-4 copies

Aggravated damage is a serious threat. Used after strikes have been chosen, so never wasted against a dodge or combat ends. The potential maneuver is nice. Wolf Claws is similar, and Anarchs have Donnybrook and Tzimisce Sculpt the Flesh as cheaper, weaker to defenses, options.

Homunculus

Homunculus
played in 46 decks, typically 1-3 copies

A powerful tool, especially when combined with the cards that allow to act during other players turn: Madness Network and Enkil Cog.

Rapid Change

Rapid Change
played in 41 decks, typically 1-3 copies

Another stealth and « combat ends » combination. The cost of 1 blood is a bit pricey, but it completes the stealth arsenal of j along Form of Mist, Earth Control, and Form of the Bat.

Flesh of Marble

Flesh of Marble
played in 29 decks, typically 2-7 copies

A good damage prevention card, it can handle heavy damage-dealing modules, even those using additonal strikes, with a single card.

Bear's Skin

Bear's Skin
played in 14 decks, typically 3-6 copies

A two beads differential at no cost, and it can protect from a single point of aggravated damage, like what Ivory Bow does. A nice complement to Flesh of Marble when i is available.

Form of the Cobra

Form of the Cobra
played in 13 decks, typically 2-3 copies

Yet another stealth device at superior J, with no cost, and guaranteed not to jam. Its relatively low success is only due to the even stronger options J already provides.

Body Flare

Body Flare
played in 10 decks, typically 1-3 copies

A costly but brutal strike. 2 aggravated damage at any range are pratty hard to get around.
